Hannah Tolf (SE)

"A classic Nordic jazz sound with pop tones of remarkable taste and quality that the creative and strong quartet manages through an original, delicate, deep and highly suggestive repertoire, which now and again leaves room for high quality improvisational moments." (concert review Südtirol Jazz Festival 2018: Jazzitalia.net)

Hannah Tolf is a singer, composer and vocal improviser from Gothenburg, Sweden. With voice and effects Hannah works in several artistic fields with the goal to expand and explore boundaries and to create connections between the performer and the listener. The ambition is to create a deep and delicate tonal world as a meeting place between the acoustic and electronic, between pop and jazz and between the decided and the unknown.

Her music has brought her to places such as South Tyrol Jazz Festival (IT), Match & Fuse (GB), GMLSTN Jazz (SWE), 12 Points Festival (IR), Malmö Live (SWE), Melodica Festival (DE & FR), Shigawake Music Festival (CA).

Hannah will follow up her acclaimed debut album 'The Park' with a second album, to be released in 2020 on Havtorn Records.

"The listener is stimulated by the unpredictable contrasts, that exquisitely contort into effective forms. In its best moments, it possesses a magical shimmer."
